Presidents of Azerbaijan and Serbia issue joint statements

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic issued statements to the press in Belgrade on February 15. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Press Service of the President of Azerbaijan released information regarding the high-level meeting.

During the joint appearance, the heads of state emphasized the strategic nature of the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia. The leaders discussed the expansion of cooperation in various sectors, including energy, transport, and mutual investment, highlighting the importance of the strategic partnership agreement signed between the two nations. President Ilham Aliyev and President Aleksandar Vucic reaffirmed their commitment to supporting each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty within international organizations.

Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia have seen significant growth in recent years, particularly in the field of energy security. As a key player in the Southern Gas Corridor, Azerbaijan serves as a vital partner for European nations, including Serbia, seeking to diversify their energy sources. This meeting in Belgrade marks another milestone in the deepening of political and economic ties between Baku and Belgrade, fostering stability and development in their respective regions.
