President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed Ali, on the occasion of the country's national holiday.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the message reads:
"Dear Prime Minister,
On the occasion of the national holiday of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you and your people on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan.
It is gratifying to see the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Ethiopia on an upward trajectory and their enrichment with new content.
I highly value our productive meeting, exchange of views, and discussions held during your visit to Azerbaijan in February. The agreements we reached regarding the future directions of Azerbaijan-Ethiopia relations during your visit have opened new opportunities for expanding the scope of our bilateral agenda.
I am confident that we will continue to successfully pursue our joint efforts toward strengthening our interstate relations and realizing the potential for mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.
On this festive day, I wish you robust health, happiness, and success in your endeavors, and I wish the friendly people of Ethiopia lasting peace and prosperity."
This diplomatic exchange underscores the strengthening ties between Baku and Addis Ababa. The diplomatic relations between the two nations have gained significant momentum recently, particularly following high-level visits aimed at fostering cooperation in economic, political, and cultural spheres. Ethiopia, as a key player in the Horn of Africa, remains an important partner for Azerbaijan in the context of expanding bilateral cooperation across the African continent.
