President Ilham Aliyev has highly appreciated his personal friendship and the growing bilateral ties with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the Azerbaijani leader made these remarks during the first meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Serbia, held with the participation of President Aleksandar Vucic.
"Thank you. Dear Mr. President, dear friends. First of all, thank you for the invitation. I am very glad to be in Serbia again. I am also grateful to my friend Aleksandar for taking the time to meet not only on a Sunday but also on a national holiday. By the way, I congratulate you on Statehood Day. This in itself demonstrates the level of sincerity between us; when we talk about our friendship and how to strengthen our cooperation, we have no boundaries, no time limits, and no doubts," President Ilham Aliyev emphasized.
The establishment of the Strategic Partnership Council marks a significant milestone in the diplomatic relations between Baku and Belgrade, which have intensified over recent years. Azerbaijan and Serbia share a common stance on the principles of international law, particularly regarding territorial integrity and sovereignty. This high-level cooperation spans various sectors, including energy, infrastructure, and defense, positioning both nations as key strategic partners in their respective regions of the South Caucasus and the Balkans.
