Azerbaijan plans to create more than 5,000 permanent jobs as part of the development of its mining and metallurgy industries.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev said at a meeting on Sept. 22 that the State Program covering 2027–2030 would enable the formation of a new and modern industrial sector in the country.
“The creation of more than 5,000 permanent jobs is envisaged. Overall, the development and efficient use of our natural resources, along with the establishment of a complete production chain, will strengthen the country’s economy,” the head of state said.
According to the president, the implementation of the program will also contribute to increasing employment in the liberated Garabagh and Eastern Zangazur regions.
He said the new projects would expand the country’s export potential and generate additional revenues for the state budget.
“As I have noted, a new and powerful industrial sector will be created. More than 5,000, and perhaps even more, new jobs will be created. The development of liberated Garabagh and Eastern Zangazur, as well as the expansion of employment there, will proceed more rapidly,” Ilham Aliyev emphasized.
The mining and metallurgy sector is expected to support industrial diversification by linking the extraction of natural resources with processing and production. Such value-added activity can increase domestic production and create employment in both resource-rich areas and related industries.
