President Ilham Aliyev has addressed participants of the international event “UN Summit on Governance Innovations: Developing Institutions Ready for the Future.”

“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that the address reads:

“Dear participants,

I welcome you to the international event on “UN Summit on Governance Innovations: Developing Institutions Ready for the Future.” Welcome to Azerbaijan!

Access to public services, transparency and digitalization are among the key conditions for sustainable development. As a result of consistent reforms to improve public administration in Azerbaijan, the ASAN Service was established in 2012 to ensure that public services are delivered in a high-quality, innovative and integrated manner.

Having paved the way for a qualitative new stage in relations between the state and citizens, ASAN Service is today not only an advanced national governance practice but also a unique Azerbaijani brand attracting international interest. The sharing of this experience with more than 50 countries and its successful application in various countries demonstrate that ASAN Service is an effective institutional model for organizing public services.

ASAN Service’s work, which aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, has also been highly valued by the UN. Its receipt of the UN Public Service Award in 2015 and the Special Award for Advancing Public Service Delivery through Digital Government in 2019 reflects the international recognition of our achievements.

Cooperation with the UN creates new opportunities to promote this experience across a wider geographic area. The Contribution Agreement signed between Azerbaijan and the UN in 2024 provides for the promotion of the ASAN Service model across four continents.

Azerbaijan will continue to support the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals and contribute to international efforts to provide high-quality public services.

I am confident that today’s event will help promote progressive ideas and new approaches, as well as put forward concrete initiatives.

I wish the summit success and all participants productive discussions.”
