New regulations for the use of natural gas have been officially approved in Azerbaijan.

As reported by Operative Information Center-OMM, Prime Minister Ali Asadov has signed a decree formalizing these updated rules. Consequently, the Cabinet of Ministers' previous decision No. 80, dated May 12, 2011, regarding the "Rules for the use of gas," has been repealed.

The new regulations streamline the process for consumers to enter into gas purchase and sale agreements. In regions where "ASAN Kommunal" centers are not yet operational, these services will be facilitated through "ASAN xidmət" centers until the dedicated utility service hubs are established.

Furthermore, the decree addresses the transition period for digital services. Until the full integration of the Electronic Government Information System is completed, procedures intended to be handled via the system operator's digital platform will be processed directly, via postal service, or through electronic mail.

This regulatory update is part of the broader ongoing efforts by the government of Azerbaijan to enhance the efficiency and transparency of public utility services. By integrating these processes into the "ASAN" service framework, the state aims to simplify administrative procedures for citizens and businesses, ensuring more accessible and standardized utility management across the country.
