Portuguese referee Gustavo Correia, who will officiate the Azerbaijan-Lithuania match in the UEFA Nations League, will take charge of a fixture involving an Azerbaijani side for the first time.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the 34-year-old FIFA referee has not previously been appointed to matches involving Azerbaijani clubs or youth national teams.
In addition to matches in Portugal’s domestic leagues, Correia has officiated games in the Greek Super League and Saudi Arabia.
This season, he has also officiated matches in the UEFA Champions League and the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Conference League.
The Azerbaijan-Lithuania match is scheduled for Oct. 4 at 17:00 at the 8th km settlement stadium.
