A theft incident has been reported in the city of Sumgait, leading to the arrest of a suspect by local law enforcement.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, which cited information provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the victim contacted the police to report that gold jewelry valued at 4,000 manats had been stolen from their residence.
Following an investigation, police officers identified and detained 31-year-old R. Guliyeva, who had a prior criminal record, on suspicion of committing the act. During the subsequent inquiry, it was revealed that the suspect was also involved in the theft of a tablet computer belonging to another individual.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to conduct investigations into the suspect's activities. Theft and property crimes remain a primary focus for the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Azerbaijan, which employs specialized investigative units to track recidivist offenders and ensure public safety across the country's urban centers, including major industrial hubs like Sumgait.
