Russian fighter Petr Yan spoke about his post-fight exchange with Georgian fighter Merab Dvalishvili at a news conference following his victory at UFC 333.
A journalist recalled that Yan had said before the fight that he and Dvalishvili would never be friends, and asked what they had said to each other in the octagon.
“We shook hands after the fight. We exchanged a few words and spoke to understand each other better. We also touched on a political topic. I think it will come out and be discussed anyway. You will hear about it,” Yan said.
Petr Yan defeated Merab Dvalishvili by unanimous decision. All three judges scored the bout 48-47 in Yan’s favor.
