Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said work toward an energy ceasefire was continuing.
“Operative Information Center-OMM”, citing Russian media, reports that Peskov made the remarks to journalists.
Peskov also said no international meetings on the agenda to resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine had been agreed upon.
Commenting on a Washington Post report that the United States and European countries had drafted a new joint plan comprising four main points to resolve the conflict, Peskov said efforts to settle the Ukraine conflict were being conducted in a separate format and would continue in the same way.
On Oct. 11, U.S. President Donald Trump said Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an energy ceasefire and that it had taken effect immediately.
The Ukrainian president said Russia continued to attack the country’s energy infrastructure despite the agreement. Moscow has not yet commented on Trump’s remarks about an energy ceasefire.
Energy infrastructure has been repeatedly affected during the Russia-Ukraine conflict, making protection of power facilities and uninterrupted energy supplies key issues in any discussion of a ceasefire. The article does not specify the terms or scope of the reported arrangement.
