The United States is deploying the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier and its accompanying strike group to the Middle East to strengthen its military posture in the region. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the New York Times published this information, citing sources within the American administration.

According to the report, the crew of the flagship vessel, currently stationed in the Caribbean, has already received deployment orders. The ship is expected to join the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group currently operating in the Persian Gulf. This deployment marks the third US aircraft carrier to conduct patrol duties in the region, significantly increasing the American naval footprint in strategic waters.

This strategic move comes amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran. US President Donald Trump has demanded a new agreement from Iran that would completely eliminate the possibility of the country acquiring nuclear weapons. US President Donald Trump has warned that Tehran will face severe military consequences if it fails to comply with these demands. Earlier, the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, announced the deployment of additional military forces to the region to ensure stability and protect American interests.

The White House seeks a total cessation of Iran's uranium enrichment projects and the imposition of strict limits on its ballistic missile production. While recent talks held in Oman were initially viewed with some optimism, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that his country would not relinquish its perceived right to enrich uranium. US President Donald Trump has reiterated that if negotiations fail, Washington will proceed to a second phase of action that will be "very heavy" for Tehran.

The deployment of such naval assets is a standard mechanism used by the United States to project power and deter potential escalations in the Middle East. The Persian Gulf remains a vital corridor for global energy supplies, and the presence of multiple carrier strike groups underscores the priority the US administration places on maritime security and the containment of regional adversaries.
