“Nvidia” has opened an independent investigation following reports that its CEO, Jensen Huang, had a relationship with a woman suspected of being a Chinese spy, according to BBC World.
The chipmaker said its board had no reason to believe the company’s secrets or national security had been compromised. It also said Huang was committed to continuing to lead the company.
Separately, Huang admitted he had been “unfaithful” to his wife and apologised for hurting her and their children.
US intelligence officials believed Alice Huang, a Chinese businesswoman who had a close relationship with the CEO, was a spy for China’s Ministry of State Security, according to a report by The New York Times.
Jensen Huang said he took “full responsibility” for his actions and had fallen short of his responsibilities to “Nvidia” employees, its board and shareholders.
