The Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of the Republic of Azerbaijan has commenced its latest session as part of the extraordinary parliamentary proceedings.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the agenda for today's plenary session features a total of 22 legislative items. Key topics under consideration include the ratification of the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships' Ballast Water and Sediments, as well as the approval of a treaty with Ukraine concerning legal assistance in civil and commercial matters.

The session is being presided over by Speaker Sahiba Gafarova. The Milli Majlis serves as the supreme legislative body of Azerbaijan, responsible for enacting laws, ratifying international treaties, and overseeing the implementation of state policy. These sessions are critical for aligning national legislation with international standards and strengthening bilateral cooperation with partner nations like Ukraine.
