Suspects accused of setting fire to cars in the Masazir settlement of Absheron District were detained on October 10.
The Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Qafqazinfo, reported that the suspects, who are accused of deliberately destroying another person’s property, were detained by the State Security Service (SSS).
The suspects have been charged under relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and a court ordered their pretrial detention.
Investigative proceedings are under way, and evidence is being collected.
The fire, which authorities say was deliberate, damaged combustible parts of Mercedes, Lada and Hyundai passenger cars and partially damaged a Renault passenger car.
Heat from the fire also partially melted the rear light of a Baic passenger car.
Masazir is a settlement in Absheron District, near Baku. The investigation is continuing to establish the circumstances of the incident and gather evidence.
