Magsad Baghirov and Kamran Bilalov arrested, official says

A court has ordered the pretrial detention of Magsad Majid oghlu Baghirov and Kamran Ramiz oghlu Bilalov, who were detained by the State Security Service (SSS).

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the two men were charged under Article 283 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Kamran Bilalov and Magsad Baghirov are suspected of acts aimed at inciting religious hatred and enmity in society.

Baghirov, known by the nickname “Chavik,” had attracted attention on TikTok through his live broadcasts for some time. He was attacked in Gabala earlier.

Article 283 of Azerbaijan’s Criminal Code covers actions aimed at inciting national, racial, social or religious hatred and enmity. The court’s decision on pretrial detention was issued as part of the investigation conducted by the SSS.
