Al-Nassr beat Uzbekistan’s Neftchi 3-1 in the second round of the AFC Champions League West Region group stage. Cristiano Ronaldo also scored in the match, which was played in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Angelo opened the scoring for Al-Nassr in the 33rd minute. Ronaldo doubled the lead in the 42nd minute. Neftchi’s Odilov pulled one back in the 51st minute, but Gofurov sealed the final score in the 78th.
Ronaldo has now scored in both matches he has played since leaving Portugal’s national team camp. He had previously scored against Al-Diriya in the eighth round of the Saudi Pro League, as Al-Nassr won 3-0.
Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus sent Ronaldo to warm up during the Nations League match against Norway on September 27 but did not bring him on. The forward left the national team camp on September 30. In a statement issued on October 6, Ronaldo explained the reasons for his decision and accused Jesus of breaking promises he had made.
