World-renowned violinist David Garrett performed “Millennium Symphony - Crossover Programme” at the Heydar Aliyev Center on November 4.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva and family members attended the symphonic show.
In the unique programme, which combines classical music with rock, pop and film melodies, Garrett presented his own interpretations of works and hits by Beethoven, Hans Zimmer, Michael Jackson, the bands “Nirvana” and “Rammstein,” and other artists.
Garrett made his stage debut at the age of 10. At 13, he became the youngest artist to sign a contract with the renowned “Deutsche Grammophon” label. Since completing his studies, Garrett has worked with conductors including Zubin Mehta, Christoph Eschenbach, Riccardo Chailly and Andrés Orozco-Estrada.
His classical album “ICONIC,” which holds a special place in his career, reached fourth place on Germany’s pop music charts, an exceptional achievement for a classical music release. The album also won “Golden Record” and “Bestseller of the Year” awards at the “Opus Klassik 2023” awards. Garrett took the classical repertoire on an international tour, performing 113 concerts across five continents.
