Premier League side Liverpool has included 28-year-old Hungarian international Roland Sallai from Galatasaray on its list of alternative targets as the winter transfer window nears its conclusion.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing foreign media outlets, that the Merseyside club's primary focus remains Sunderland defender Lutsharel Geertruida. However, if a final agreement for Geertruida cannot be reached, Sallai is being seriously considered as a viable backup option to bolster the squad's depth.
Sallai, a prominent figure for the Hungarian national team, has netted 15 goals in 64 international appearances. His current contract with the Turkish giants, Galatasaray, is set to run until June 2028. According to the Transfermarkt portal, the player's current market value is estimated at approximately 10 million euros. During the ongoing 2025/26 season in the Turkish Super Lig, Sallai has made 17 appearances, contributing one goal and four assists.
