The Kuwaiti government has announced that its air defense systems successfully intercepted hostile aerial targets, following a period of heightened regional tension. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from Al Jazeera, the country's defense mechanisms were activated in response to external threats.

The Kuwaiti Directorate General of Civil Aviation confirmed that flight operations at Kuwait International Airport, which had been temporarily suspended due to the security situation, have resumed. The airport has returned to normal operational status.

Prior to this announcement, the Kuwaiti military confirmed it had responded to attacks involving missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), urging the public to strictly adhere to safety protocols. This escalation follows a statement from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which claimed to have launched a two-stage attack targeting US regional assets located in Kuwait, Qatar, and other neighboring countries.

The security situation in the region remains volatile as international observers monitor the potential for further escalation. Kuwait, a key strategic partner for the United States in the Gulf, maintains a significant military presence and hosts several US bases, making it a focal point during periods of heightened geopolitical friction between Iran and the West.
