The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, has issued a statement regarding US President Donald Trump's potential military intervention plans against Iran. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Reuters, Kallas emphasized her opposition to increasing tensions in the region.

During her speech, the diplomat evaluated the current situation in the Middle East, stating:

"If we are talking about strikes, I believe that this region does not need a new war."

The statement follows recent escalations in diplomatic and economic pressure on Tehran. Kaja Kallas previously announced that the European Union has designated Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization. Furthermore, official Brussels has approved a new package of sanctions targeting 15 officials and 6 organizations within Iran.

The Middle East remains a focal point of global security concerns, with Azerbaijan maintaining a keen interest in regional stability due to its proximity and strategic energy corridors. As US President Donald Trump shapes his administration's foreign policy, international leaders are closely monitoring the balance between diplomatic pressure and military deterrence in the Persian Gulf and surrounding areas.
