The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, has arrived in Kyiv for an official visit.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the diplomatic mission's Telegram channel, Kallas was welcomed at the train station by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. Footage from the arrival shows Kallas disembarking from the train and being greeted by the Ukrainian delegation led by Sybiha, with the two diplomats sharing a warm greeting.
The visit precedes a significant meeting of EU officials scheduled to take place in Kyiv on March 31. During the mission, Kaja Kallas and EU foreign ministers are expected to hold extensive discussions with Andrii Sybiha regarding the continued provision of military and financial support to Ukraine. Kallas emphasized that the European delegation arrived in the capital with a "clear message that Russia must be held accountable for its war crimes."
This visit underscores the European Union's ongoing commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity amid the protracted conflict. As the EU's top diplomat, Kallas has consistently advocated for increased defense capabilities for Ukraine and stricter sanctions against Moscow. The meeting in Kyiv serves as a strategic platform to coordinate long-term security guarantees and align European foreign policy with the evolving needs of the Ukrainian defense forces.
