Al-Nassr forward Joao Felix has spoken about playing alongside his club and Portugal teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portugal captain has scored 979 goals in his professional career. Felix said it was special for him to play alongside Ronaldo both for the national team and the Saudi Arabian club.
“Very few players in football can boast such experience. We grew up watching Cristiano. He was our idol and role model. Now I am sharing these moments with him. It is a great honor to play alongside him,” Felix said.
The forward also highlighted the importance of winning the Saudi Arabian championship last year. He said it was pleasing to help Ronaldo achieve the title he had been seeking.
Felix said he would make a special effort to assist Ronaldo when the Portuguese star approaches his 1,000th goal.
“When he is one goal away from this milestone, I will look for him on the pitch whenever we have possession so I can pass to him. This goal will become part of football history. It would be special to be involved in such an event,” the AS newspaper quoted Felix as saying.
Ronaldo’s pursuit of 1,000 career goals has attracted significant attention in world football. Reaching the landmark would place him among the sport’s most prolific goalscorers, while Felix’s comments reflect the close professional relationship between the two Portugal internationals at Al-Nassr and in the national team.
