Former England and Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has addressed the circulating rumors regarding a potential transfer of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) winger Bradley Barcola to the Merseyside club.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Carragher stated that the French footballer is not a suitable candidate to fill the void left by Mohamed Salah.
In a post shared on his social media account, the former defender emphasized that Barcola primarily operates on the left flank, whereas Liverpool requires reinforcements on the opposite side.
"Can Barcola replace Salah? No, because he does not play on the other wing. The team already has three players who can play on the left flank – Wirtz, Gakpo, and Nwaneri. However, there is no one to cover the right side," Carragher noted.
It is worth noting that recent media reports suggested that Bradley Barcola had been in transfer discussions with Liverpool's management. The 21-year-old winger has shown significant promise, recording 11 goals and one assist in 29 appearances during the previous French championship season.
