The Israeli army said it killed a man in southern Syria early Monday after he tried to enter one of its military posts in what it described as a “security area”.
Israeli troops opened fire, killing the man, the army said in a statement. It added that no soldiers were injured and that its forces would continue operating in the area to counter threats to Israeli civilians and troops.

The channel also reported that Israeli forces entered the village of Maariya in Daraa province with more than 15 military vehicles and raided several homes. It said two artillery shells were fired towards the outskirts of Al-Mantara Dam in central Quneitra.
Syria raises issue at UN
Israel has continued to violate Syrian territory since the fall of the Assad regime in late 2024.
Last month, Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa raised the issue at the 81st UN General Assembly in New York. He said Israel had carried out about 500 airstrikes and artillery attacks, more than 1,200 incursions and roughly 300 arrests and detentions since late 2024.
