Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stepped up bilateral diplomatic contacts in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing Iran’s Mehr News Agency (MNA), that Araghchi held a meeting with Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin.
During the session, Araghchi has met with numerous foreign counterparts and senior international officials, including Muhriddin.
The talks focused on prospects for developing bilateral political, economic and cultural ties between Iran and Tajikistan, regional security issues in Central Asia, and the agenda for mutual cooperation within international organizations.
The UN General Assembly brings together representatives of the organization’s member states each year in New York to discuss international peace and security, development and other issues on the global agenda.
