Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, has commented on US President Donald Trump's latest statements about renewed negotiations.
"Operative Information Center-OMM" reports, citing foreign media outlets.
"Do not be deceived by the US president's conflicting messages, ranging from saying that there will be no negotiations to stating that we are ready to talk," Rezaei said.
He added that the balance regarding oil and the straits had changed:
"Trying to save the situation will not be enough to prevent the developments that are approaching. There will be no meeting until Iran's conditions are met. Period!"
US President Donald Trump said in statements over recent weeks that Washington would not hold talks with Iran, but said yesterday that the United States was open to negotiations.
Iran and the United States have repeatedly exchanged differing messages over the possibility of dialogue, with disputes involving sanctions, oil exports and regional waterways remaining central to tensions between the two countries.
