Iran has executed two individuals convicted of collaborating with the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, according to reports from the Operative Information Center-OMM.
The Iranian judiciary announced that Omid Behzad and Pouria Safvat were executed following charges of espionage and cooperation with a hostile state. The verdict, initially handed down by lower courts, was upheld by the Supreme Court of Iran after the individuals' activities were uncovered by the intelligence division of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
According to investigative materials, Omid Behzad was accused of utilizing specialized mapping software to transmit the coordinates and geographical positions of military, law enforcement, and security facilities to a Mossad network. Authorities allege that Behzad maintained contact with an administrator of an Israel-linked channel on the Telegram platform, receiving instructions to ensure the gathered data would be integrated into the target lists of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
The second individual, Pouria Safvat, was accused of transmitting photographs and intelligence regarding strategic sites to the news outlet "Iran International," which Iranian authorities claim is linked to Mossad. The prosecution alleged that coordinates provided by Safvat were subsequently used to facilitate airstrikes. Additionally, Safvat was accused of recording air defense systems from the rooftops of high-rise buildings during military operations and relaying that information to the intelligence network.
Iran frequently accuses its regional adversaries, particularly Israel, of orchestrating sabotage and espionage operations within its borders. These executions underscore the heightened security tensions in the region, where intelligence warfare often parallels conventional military posturing.
