The official farewell and funeral ceremonies for former Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei are scheduled to take place from July 4 to July 9, according to official statements.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the Tasnim news agency, that the announcement was made by Khamenei's office.
According to the released schedule, the farewell ceremony will be held at the Imam Khomeini Mosque in Tehran on July 4 and 5. The funeral procession is set to depart from Tehran on July 6, with the body arriving in Qom on July 7. The final burial is scheduled for July 9 in Mashhad.
Ali Khamenei, who served as the Supreme Leader of Iran for decades, died on February 28 following strikes conducted by the United States and Israel on Tehran. His death marked a significant turning point in the regional geopolitical landscape, given his long-standing influence over Iranian domestic and foreign policy.
