Illicit weapons cache discovered in Baku's Narimanov district

A joint operation conducted by the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has resulted in the discovery of an illicit weapons cache in Baku.

According to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the MIA press service, the operation followed intelligence regarding a convict currently serving time in a penitentiary facility under the Ministry of Justice. Prior to his incarceration, the individual had buried a cache of weapons in an empty lot located in the Narimanov district of Baku. Law enforcement officers recovered one Kalashnikov assault rifle, along with one magazine and nine cartridges.

The discovery is part of ongoing efforts by Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies to ensure public safety and remove illegal firearms from circulation. Such operations are frequently conducted to prevent potential criminal activities and maintain security across the capital. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
