A flight in Canada was cancelled after a young passenger refused to comply with safety regulations and remain in their assigned seat. The incident, which occurred during taxiing, forced the aircraft to return to the terminal.

According to a statement from company spokesperson Brad Cicero, as reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the flight crew and the child's parents made extensive efforts to resolve the situation, but the child remained uncooperative. Consequently, the pilot made the decision to return the aircraft to the gate.

The process of deplaning the passengers, offloading luggage, and completing necessary safety protocols proved time-consuming. Due to these delays, the flight missed the operational curfew at Victoria International Airport, leading to the cancellation of the flight for the remainder of the night. Aviation safety regulations strictly mandate that all passengers, including children, must be securely seated during taxi, takeoff, and landing to ensure the safety of all individuals on board.
