Five people have been killed in Washington state after an unidentified individual attacked several people with a knife on February 24.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, that law enforcement officers responded to the scene and neutralized the attacker by opening fire.
According to official statements, four individuals, including the perpetrator, died at the scene of the incident. A fifth victim was transported to a local medical facility but later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
Pierce County, located in the U.S. state of Washington, encompasses the city of Tacoma and is the second-most populous county in the state.
