Ukrainian citizen attacks monastery in Poland, priest killed

A 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen attacked a monastery with a knife in Poland.

“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports, citing foreign media.

The attack took place at around 9:30 a.m. local time today at the Jarosław Abbey.

A priest was killed in the incident, while four other people were injured.

All the injured were taken to hospital. The condition of three men was initially assessed as serious.

The attacker was detained at the scene.

Jarosław, a city in southeastern Poland, is known for its historic religious sites, including the Benedictine abbey. Polish authorities are expected to investigate the motive and circumstances of the attack.
