An explosion in a residential building in the city of Huludao, China, has resulted in eight injuries and left three individuals missing, according to local emergency services.

The Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from Xinhua, confirmed that local firefighting units were dispatched to the scene immediately following the incident. Preliminary assessments suggest that the blast was likely caused by a gas leak.

Emergency response teams, including 14 fire engines and 95 personnel, were deployed to the site to manage the situation. The injured individuals have been transported to local hospitals for medical treatment. Search and rescue operations are currently ongoing, and authorities have initiated a formal investigation to determine the precise cause of the explosion.

Gas-related incidents in residential buildings remain a significant safety concern in urban areas across China. Local governments frequently emphasize the importance of infrastructure maintenance and safety protocols to prevent such disasters, which often occur due to aging pipeline systems or improper handling of household gas appliances.
