Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and US President Donald Trump have held a telephone conversation to discuss pressing international and regional issues.

According to the Directorate of Communications of the Turkish Presidency, as reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the conversation focused heavily on the escalating tensions between the United States and Iran. President Erdogan emphasized the critical importance of maximizing diplomatic avenues to resolve the crisis, noting that Ankara remains committed to supporting efforts aimed at ensuring regional peace and stability.

During the call, the leaders also addressed broader regional security concerns. President Erdogan highlighted the strategic significance of the "Mecca Joint Defense Agreement," recently signed between Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, as a vital framework for regional security architecture.

The discussion further encompassed the ongoing situation in the Gaza Strip and the broader Israeli-Palestinian conflict. President Erdogan expressed deep concern regarding the intensification of Israeli military actions against Palestinians at a time when the transition to the second phase of the peace process is on the agenda. The Turkish President reaffirmed his country's readiness to support all initiatives aimed at establishing a sustainable peace in Gaza and facilitating the reconstruction of the region.

The "Mecca Joint Defense Agreement" mentioned by the leaders represents a significant recent development in regional security cooperation, aiming to bolster collective defense capabilities among the signatory nations in response to evolving geopolitical challenges in the Middle East.
