The Main State Traffic Police Department has appealed to road users ahead of the holiday period.

The department provided the information to Operative Information Center-OMM.

The appeal said:

“November 8, Victory Day, and November 9, State Flag Day, are approaching. These days remind us once again of the heroism of those who gave their lives for the homeland, the sacrifice of veterans and the unbreakable unity of our people.

Traffic is expected to increase across Azerbaijan during the upcoming non-working days. The Main State Traffic Police Department urges drivers to strictly follow traffic rules and to be attentive and responsible while travelling.

Before setting out, check that your vehicle is in good technical condition, especially its brakes, lights and tires. Adjust your speed to road and weather conditions, do not exceed the speed limit, avoid dangerous overtaking and manoeuvres, and maintain a safe distance. Wear a seat belt and do not let mobile phone use distract you behind the wheel. On long journeys, do not drive when tired or sleepy, and take regular breaks. Be especially careful on busy roads, avoid rushing and take the safety of other road users into account.

We also urge pedestrians to strictly follow traffic rules, cross only at designated places and take extra care, especially in darkness and in conditions of limited visibility.”
