Danish police said on Friday they were investigating new threats targeting air traffic at Copenhagen Airport. An initial assessment indicated there was no immediate danger to passengers, Anadolu Agency reported.
“We are once again at Copenhagen Airport today in connection with threats directed at air traffic,” Copenhagen Police said in a statement.
Police said they were investigating the incident and had a visible presence at the airport.
The latest incident follows a series of hoax bomb threats that disrupted dozens of passenger flights across Europe and forced several aircraft to make unscheduled landings. Some incidents also prompted authorities to deploy fighter jets to escort or intercept passenger aircraft.
On Thursday, a military bomb disposal unit searched two aircraft at Copenhagen Airport, Denmark’s largest airport, after a bomb threat. No explosive devices were found.
