Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Portugal training session early

Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo left the national team’s training session before it ended, A Bola reported.

The incident occurred after head coach Jorge Jesus said at a news conference that there was no conflict between him and Ronaldo. According to the report, the footballer left the stadium and boarded a minibus accompanied by two employees of the Portuguese Football Federation.

Portugal have played two matches in Group 4 of League A of the UEFA Nations League. Ronaldo played 67 minutes against Wales but did not register any notable attacking contribution. Portugal won the match 1-0. The player did not feature in the 2-1 victory over Norway.

Portugal will face Denmark in the third round of the Nations League group stage on Oct. 1. The match at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen will kick off at 11:45 p.m. Baku time.

The UEFA Nations League is a competition for European national teams designed to provide regular competitive matches during international windows. League A features the continent’s highest-ranked teams, with group results determining progression to the knockout stages and promotion or relegation between leagues.
