According to Forbes, Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first active athlete to reach $2 billion in career earnings. The Portuguese footballer, who plays for Al-Nassr, is expected to earn $250 million from the club in the 2026/27 season.
Ronaldo is set to make an additional $50 million that season from endorsement deals and other business ventures.
Forbes says Lionel Messi could also pass the $2 billion mark next year. The Argentine footballer earns about $70 million from MLS through his role at Inter Miami and a further $75 million from activities off the field.
