Coventry City chairman Doug King has officially confirmed that the club's head coach, Frank Lampard, has received a formal job offer from Chelsea.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the London-based club is actively seeking a new specialist following the dismissal of Liam Rosenior earlier this week. Lampard's current season has been exceptionally successful, as he managed to lead Coventry City to promotion into the English Premier League. Praising the manager's performance, Doug King stated:

"He has done a fantastic job. These 18 months have been incredible for both us and him. I am sure he is currently considering his future. I advised him not to forget how difficult it was to achieve the success he has reached."

King added that Lampard's achievement in exiting the league as champions is a major milestone. He described the frequent managerial changes at some clubs as disappointing, emphasizing that Coventry City aims to avoid such instability. However, the chairman did not rule out the possibility of Lampard receiving attractive offers during the summer, noting that as a high-level coach, he will have significant choices to make regarding his career path.

Frank Lampard has a long-standing history with Chelsea, having previously managed the team on two occasions. He served as head coach from 2019 to 2021 and returned to the role in an interim capacity in 2023. As Chelsea's all-time leading goalscorer from his playing days, Lampard remains a central figure in the club's history. His potential return comes at a time when the London club is looking to restructure its technical staff to regain its competitive edge in both domestic and European competitions.
