The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, has sent a congratulatory letter to President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Azerbaijan's Independence Day.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the letter highlights the high level of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two nations. "I note with great satisfaction the high level of Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan mutually beneficial cooperation, which is successfully developing in various directions. I am firmly convinced that our relations will continue to develop and strengthen for the benefit of our two brotherly peoples," Berdimuhamedov said in his message, wishing President Ilham Aliyev robust health and success, and the people of Azerbaijan peace and prosperity.
Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan share deep historical, cultural, and linguistic ties, with both nations actively cooperating in key sectors such as energy, transport, and logistics across the Caspian Sea. The strategic partnership between Baku and Ashgabat plays a crucial role in regional connectivity, particularly in the development of trans-Caspian transit routes linking Central Asia with Europe.
