On March 4, the safe evacuation of Azerbaijani citizens from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to Baku was successfully carried out following the cancellation of regular flights due to the current situation in the Middle East.

Operative Information Center-OMM, citing AZERTAC, reports that a Boeing 787 Dreamliner belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) landed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The evacuation flight ensured the return of more than 200 citizens to the country.

Currently, as the national air carrier of Azerbaijan, AZAL continues to execute flights in a safe and planned manner in accordance with procedures established by relevant government authorities. It is noted that additional evacuation flights from other destinations in the Middle East to Baku are planned for the coming days.

The evacuation process highlights Azerbaijan's commitment to the safety of its citizens abroad during regional instability. Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the main hub for such operations, serves as the primary gateway for Azerbaijan's civil aviation, maintaining high international safety standards and providing essential logistics for the repatriation of nationals during global or regional emergencies.
