Azerbaijan U-21 team loses 5-2 to Scotland

Azerbaijan’s U-21 football team played its next match in the European Championship qualifying campaign.

The team, coached by Rashad Eyubov, faced Scotland’s U-21 side away from home. The match, held in Kilmarnock, ended in a 5-2 defeat for Azerbaijan.

Nariman Akhundzade scored Azerbaijan’s first goal in the 21st minute, while Raul Mammadov found the net in the 70th minute.

Following the result, Azerbaijan remain fifth in the group with seven points from nine matches. Scotland are third with 14 points.

The UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying stage determines which teams advance to the final tournament. Each match contributes to the teams’ group standings and qualification prospects.
