Geological data related to Azerbaijan’s mining, including metal ores, will be digitized.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the measure is included in the “State Program on the development of the mining (metal ores) and metallurgical industries for 2027–2030,” approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
Under the document, existing data at the State Geological Information Fund will be inventoried, information to be digitized will be prioritized, and technical requirements will be defined.
Priority geological data will be digitized, classified and systematized in stages within a unified electronic geological information resource.
A unified electronic geological information resource containing digitized geological data will also be established and made available for use.
Digital geological information systems can help public authorities and industry participants access standardized data more efficiently, while supporting more transparent planning, licensing and management of mineral resources.
