Azerbaijan plans increases to several social benefits in 2027

A total of 281 million manats is budgeted in 2027 for benefits paid through compulsory state social insurance, including for temporary disability, pregnancy and childbirth, the birth of a child, childcare for children under 3 and funeral expenses.

Committee Chairman Musa Guliyev said this during a discussion of the social budget package at a meeting of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) Committee on Labor and Social Policy, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.

He said the allocation is 38% or 77 million manats higher than the approved forecast for the current year.

Guliyev said the 77 million manat increase would allow several social benefits to rise next year. The benefit for the birth of a child is projected to increase from 600 to 1,500 manats, the childcare benefit paid to insured persons for children under 3 from 700 to 936 manats, and the childcare benefit for children under 3 from 37 to 100 manats.

A total of 25 million manats is also budgeted for expenses related to insured persons’ sanatorium and health-improvement treatment, to be financed through the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation.
