The match between the Lithuania and Azerbaijan national teams in Division D of the UEFA Nations League has ended.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that the game, played in Kaunas, ended in a 1-1 draw. Mahir Emreli scored Azerbaijan’s goal in the 14th minute.
Azerbaijan have therefore opened their campaign in the new UEFA Nations League season with a draw.
The national team will play its second group match against Liechtenstein in Baku on Oct. 1.
The UEFA Nations League is a competition organized by UEFA for European national teams, with participating sides divided into leagues and groups according to their rankings. Matches also offer teams an opportunity to compete for promotion and avoid relegation between divisions.
