The Cabinet of Ministers has amended the “Rules for conducting customs examinations,” approved by a decision dated Aug. 27, 2013.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Prime Minister Ali Asadov signed a decision on the matter.
Under the decision, a copy of an opinion issued by the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President will be required for unprocessed diamonds in order to conduct a customs examination in Azerbaijan, pursuant to the law “On precious metals and precious stones.”
The amendment establishes an additional documentary requirement for customs procedures involving unprocessed diamonds. Customs examinations are used to determine the nature, characteristics and value of goods and to ensure compliance with relevant import and export regulations.
