A ceremony to sign documents was held in the Turkmen city of Turkmenbashi on October 8.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon signed the “Joint Statement of the 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Central Asia” and the “Decision on the Regulatory Documents of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Central Asia.”
The consultative meeting brings together leaders from Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries to discuss regional cooperation. The documents signed at the gathering set out shared positions and the framework governing the meetings.
