The State Agency for Antimonopoly Supervision and Consumer Market Control under the President has drawn up an administrative offense report against Araz Supermarket LLC.
The agency told Operative Information Center-OMM.
According to the information, inspections conducted by the agency’s departments for consumer rights protection and consumer market supervision found that a food product was sold at a price higher than the one displayed on the product.
As a result, Araz Supermarket violated the requirements of Article 13, Part 1, of the Law on Consumer Rights Protection.
Since the company’s actions showed signs of an offense under Article 447.0.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses — minor deception of consumers concerning the quantity of goods — an administrative offense report was drawn up against the company.
Azerbaijan’s consumer protection rules require retailers to display accurate prices and charge consumers accordingly. Administrative proceedings may be initiated when inspections identify violations of these requirements.
