Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has sharply reacted to threatening statements made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against official Tehran.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing Turkish broadcaster TRT Haber, that the Iranian diplomat accused Israel’s leadership in a post on his official account on the social media platform X. Araghchi said Netanyahu was trying to drag the United States into a new large-scale war to safeguard his political future and avoid legal accountability and possible imprisonment.

The head of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs claimed that, despite previous military strikes and pressure, his country had further strengthened its defence capabilities:

“The last time you wanted to ‘finish’ Iran, our country emerged from that test even stronger. Do you want to try your luck again? Go ahead and try. But be careful: we still have unfinished business,” Araghchi said.

According to The Times of Israel, Netanyahu said that the parliamentary elections scheduled for October 27 were vital to the existence of the State of Israel. In a new security doctrine he presented, Netanyahu set out the direct objective of overthrowing the current regime in Tehran.

The Israeli prime minister claimed that deepening economic difficulties in Iran were fuelling domestic social discontent and creating conditions for new mass protests.

“We have a comprehensive and determined action plan to bring about the collapse of the regime in Iran. That is the direct instruction I have given to all security and intelligence agencies,” Netanyahu said.
