Milan head coach Ruben Amorim spoke about the derby after his side’s 3-1 victory over Inter in the 10th round of Serie A.
“We started the match well, then made a few adjustments with the opposition’s strengths in mind. We managed to take control of the ball in the second half, and Modric helped us a lot with that. It was not an ideal performance, but it was a special evening for our fans. After Wednesday’s setback, it was very important for us to win,” Amorim said.
The coach said Xila, Moreyra and Rabyo had influenced the course of the match. He said the players stood out both for their individual qualities and their hard work in training. Amorim said he was pleased with the derby atmosphere and that results like this strengthened people’s belief in the team.
The head coach stressed that building a team was a long process. In his view, a team could not be transformed in a day, and both successful wins and difficult matches such as the one against Bologna lay ahead. Amorim said he was proud of his players while also focusing on the next match. Football Italia published his remarks.
After the win, Milan sit fourth in the Serie A standings with 21 points. Inter have 25 points. Lazio, who have the same number of points, have a game in hand.
